Apple and Samsung had been fined 10 million euros in Italy for slowing down iPhones. An investigation burst out in January by the nations competition Authority found that certain smartphone software updates had a negative effect on the performances from the phones.the investigation follows in that older phones would’ve been slowed down so more new phones would’ve been sold. I think that this is corruption with the two corporations because they are multi-billion corporations that have tons of money.In a statement the antitrust watchdog said “Apple and Samsung implemented dishonest commercial practices” and that operating system updates “caused serious malfunctions and significantly reduced performance, thus accelerating phones’ substitution”.
